Annual C Family Float Trip

So June 11-13th was the C Family Annual Float trip. It was a beautiful weekend to be floating on the river. Each year my brother plans it and he likes to go to a different river each year. We were supposed to do a 14 mile float, but the water levels were low and we could only do a 4 mile float instead, so we stopped and played in the water alot to stay the whole day on the water. This was the first year lil D went with us and he did great for being 2 and floating all day.

We had a lot of fun, great company, great weather and good food! The best was the home made ice cream and dutch oven peach cobbler!! It was so delicious, i even had seconds. On our way home, CJ, B&B&lilD and Mr. C & I stopped by Johnston ShutIns. Us girls hadn't been there since we were little and we were so close we wanted to see how things had changed since it reopened. It was really neat and we had a blast and cooled off swiming for a while before our drive home.

Lil D turns 2

Lil D turned 2 on June 17th, so on Friday night the 18th we all headed over to B&B's for some swimming, bbq, cake & ice cream. We got there early and enjoyed swimming in the pool before everyone else arrived, especially since it was so hot. Lil D is a good swimmer for being 2 and we had a blast playing in the pool with him!

17 weeks

I had a doctor's appointment this week. So as I mentioned in my 13 week post, my doctor has started her own practice. She has too offices and I didn't really like the office I went to at the last appointment so I decided to go to the other office for this appoinment. I like this office much better and I think my doc does too. However the office is still working out all the kinks, which is understandable but still a pain in the arse. My appointment was at 11:15, i arrived at 11:11 and there were 4-5 ladies in the office waiting when i arrived, but my doc is not the only doc in the office. I proceeded to wait for about an hour until I finally got called back at 12:15ish and was done with my appointment by 12:35. So after the long wait, and short appointment here is where I am at for 17 weeks. weight: 133, Blood Pressure: 128/72, Fetal Heart Rate: 150. Doc said I was looking great and that lil C's heartbeat sounded great! we opted not to do the tests that we could have done at this appointment. We did not schedule my next appoinment as she is waiting to see when their ultrasound machine will arrive, so that she can schedule our appointment and the big ultrasound for the same time in 4 weeks! I am trying so hard to be paitent and not pay to go to a private ultrasound technician since I know that you can find out the sex as early as 16 weeks, only a few more weeks though and hopefully they will go by fast.

So this morning I scheduled the service repair man from Sears to come and fix our mower. Last week Mr. C was mowing the steep hill that I can't mow and did something to the blade so it wouldn't turn. It is still covered under warrenty until September. The sears service man is much like the cable guy who shows up between certain times and you have to be at home. well this morning while working on a decorating project that I have been meaning to do since the end of April, i receive a phone call from Sears. When I answer the phone, she asks me if my parents are there. I tell her this is Mrs. C. (I know I look younger than i am, but i didn't think i sounded like a little kid) She proceeds to tell me that the technician is behind scheduled and he will not be there within the scheudled time frame of 7-11AM and it will be early afternoon before he arrives instead. I inform her that i have to be at work at noon, and ask if i can just leave the mower parked in our driveway for them to work on and noone will be at home. She puts me on hold and comes back with a yes that will be fine. So thank goodness I did not have to rescheudle and the repair man came today because our grass needed to be mowed on Sunday. Although i was upset that I could have left the house and gone for my walk since I had to stay around the house from 7-11, i was able to get this project done!



I bought the mirror and sconces last year as a wedding present from my godparents. What I love about the sconces is that I can change out what goes in them with the seasons, so this is what I have done for summer! Do you think I need to add anything or take anything away from them?

One wedding after another

This past weekend we had my cousin's wedding reception on Friday night and a friend's wedding and reception on Saturday night. Unfortuanlty i do not have any good pictures of the brides & grooms. :(
It was great to see my aunts and uncles on my dad's side on Friday night along wth a few cousins. It seems like we don't get to see them that often so it was nice to be able to visit. Saturday, I sat with my mom during the wedding and than went home and picked up Mr. C for the reception. He had worked some in the morning and then was helping his friend move. The reception was at the KC Hall across from the church. The hall was decorated to the hill (again no good pictures turned out), you wouldn't have thought it was a KC Hall. I went to grade school and graduated high school with the bride, so it was great to see people I haven't seen in a really long time. It was a beautiful and fun evening!

at last we got to take our boat out in the sunshine!! After breakfast at the hotel the morning after CJ graduated, I headed up to the cabin to meet up with Mr. C and his family. Almost 4 hours of driving I arrived at the cabin, changed into my swimsuit, packed our food cooler and we headed down to the boat ramp. We had J, H, lil mis beautiful, and a friend and his son on our boat. We went and fished a little, but no one was having any luck so we went and met up with the rest of the family.

I was proud of myself, i felt that i did an okay job with taking the boat on and off the trailer, especially on Sunday when Mr. C was not on the boat with me for the first time. I still have lots to learn until i feel more comfortable with doing it, but i did it both days successfully!

It was a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!!

6 years later officially Dr. C!

6 years ago my lil sista CJ graduated highschool and began her journey into medical school. She jumped right into classes that summer and began her 6 year accelerated medical program. She has so much dedication and passion to follow her dream of being a doctor. 6 years of lots of studying, tests, clincis, hardly any breaks, boards, etc. I am so proud of her for what she has done so far. I know I would have never been able to do what she has.

She was the first one of her classmates to get her hood and oficially be a doctor!!!

Dr. CJ has a few weeks off before she begins her 3 year residency. Best of luck to her, i know she will do wonderful!!
