A Night On the Town

To celebrate our birthday's this year we decided that we would get an overnite sitter, call a cab and have a night out on the town. It also happened to work out that some friends of our's were having a surprise 30th bday party for our friend on Mr. C's birthday! My sis CJ came over and watched lil Miss at the house and spent the night at the house.

We went to dinner at Dos Primos for some yummy Mexican! Then we headed to the bar for the evening. We had a lot of fun and it was nice to be out and see some people we hadn't seen in a while.

A special thanks to AK & UB for giving Mr. C the The Gift of a Night Out  for some work he had done helping a new neigbor, who is their co-worker and friend poor some concrete. They also met us out for the evening and AK ended up taking us home! Long story short, we took the cab to AK & UB's to drop UB off and then went in a hung out and AK ended up taking us home. :)

It was a wonderful evening. We had a ton of fun being out on the town.

Jolly Old St. Nick

Today I took lil miss to the customer appreciation day at S Banking Company, my small home town bank. They also had Santa there to take pictures with the kiddos. While this was not our Santa that we would like to see every year, we just did not have the chance to take her to see him and so this was going to be our only chance to visit with Santa. Plus i would like for it to become a family tradition of ours to go as a family to see Santa, this year it was just me because Mr. C had to do some work this morning.

It could have been the time that we were there as it was almost morning nap time, or the fact that she had a cold but she really wanted nothing to do with Santa this year, so mom had to be in the pictures with her.

Lil Miss is One!

Whew....what a busy super fun day! This morning we spent finishing up preparations for lil miss's party. She took her morning nap and after a quick lunch we headed out to my Granny & Gramps farm to take C family pictures. We have not had an updated family picture in a number of years and we have grown since then. we have tried to make it work the past couple of times, but nothing has ever gotten done. So since everyone was coming in for the party, CJ organized getting pictures taken. I am going to be honest, it really iritated me when i was told what time the pictures were because it conflicted with nap times and i had set the party time to be after her afternoon nap so that she would be at her best. But when you have 13 people's schedule to work around it gets hairy. So we went to pictures at 12:30P, got back home at 2:00PM, put her down for her nap and i started decorating.

Cupcakes were the center piece on our dining room table. I meant to get pictures before people arrived, but didn't get that done.

We pushed our coffee table against the wall and i had her newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 1 year photos on the window sill next to their number block. On the coffee table, i had her baby book and her photo albums of pictures from the year.

We had tables and chairs set up in the basement. I hung balloons from the ceiling.

We started dinner around 4:30ish, after everyone was done eating we opended presents. She got lots of new clothes, books, and toys. Then after presents it was cake smashing time!

She was actually very neat with her cupcake and didn't get really messy, which really didn't surprise me with the way she ate it on Thursday night as well. After a clean up bath, she played until she went to bed with her new toys.

It was a great 1st birthday party. We had approximatley about 50-60 people at our house, we are truly blessed to be surround by such amazing family and friends.

After most everyone left, we visited with our intermediate families that could stay for the evening.

Can I eat that one?

Tonight we spent preparing for Lil Miss's birthday party. I kind of had a theme and kind of didn't. I just didn't want to get into a specific theme since i know in a few years she will be picking what she wants. So for this first birthday I wanted to stay really simple. So i decided to do primary colors, balloons & blocks. My sis JR flew in for the festivites and so was also able to help us prepare. I can not thank her enough for helping. She made the meatballs, while i prepared the pototoe caserole, so all that we had to do on Saturday afternoon was put the caserole in the oven, turn the meatballs, ham & green beans on. It worked out nicely. Then it was onto the cake... or more so the cupcakes. I decided that i was going to make and decorate them myself this year. I cheated a little since i got box mixes and icing from the store, but otherwise we made them ourselves. It was a fun expereince and again i and soooooooooo glad JR was here to help.

Mr. C helped on and off throughout the evening, more than anything he just wanted to eat them all!!! But he did help ice some of them.

Mini bday party

Mama, Papa, Sissy, D, KoBo & JK are not going to make it to Lil Miss's birthday party on Saturday, so they came over this evening and we had a mini bday party. They brought pizza, then we opened her presents from them.

and then lil miss C got to practice her cake eating silks for the big day!

visit to Granny

JR flew in today for the festivites this weekend and after Lil Miss C's docter's appointment, we met her, B, Dman, Lfrog and my mom for lunch. After lunch us girls headed into to visit with Granny. My mom couldn't join us since she had to head into work for the evening. We had a wonderful visit with Granny. The kiddos kept us all entertained.

Tidbits for this month:

Wow, I can not believe that you are already a year old!!! Looking back it amazes me how quickly this year has flown by. Each stage of this year has been so much fun, and it just keeps getting funner!!

You have taken off with your walking now, and you started standing up all by yourself and walking on 11.11.11. Since then there is no stopping you.

You love to climb, you have started to climb on on our dining room chairs and sit on them like a big girl.

You love to watch and be a part of what dad and i are doing.

We will now start giving you straight milk, yep that's right, no more formul!!!
You are weighing in at 19.5 lbs and are 29 in long.

Amazing Addition

Dear Lil Miss,

You have been an amazing addition to mommy & daddy's life! You are our pride and joy! I love the way you make me smile and laugh too many times a day to count, I love your hugs and kisses, and all the stories that you tell us, really just everything about you is wonderful!

Hanging my ornament

Today we decorated for Christmas. Lil miss C was exicited to help. She would get the ornaments from Mr. C and would hang them on the tree, then only to try to take them off again.

Here she is hanging her Lil Miss C's First Christmas ornament that BG got her last year.

I was wondering how she would do with messing with the ornaments after we were done decorating, but after a few times on telling her no touch, she hasn't messed with them since. Keeping my fingers crossed this continues until we take the tree down after the New Year.

Next step is to get Mr. C to hang up the outside lights!

She's here!

Yep that's right....another girl for the C Family!!! Sissy & D had thier baby today!! They did not find out beforehand what they were having, so we found out JKS arrived by a picture message from Mr. C's dad and she had the pink cap on.

Once we knew she had arrived we went to the hospital and visited for a short while.

Foxtail Family Fun

Last Sunday we had C. Linz Photography come to our house and take family pictures and Lil Miss C's 1 year pictures. I have gotten her 3 month, 6 month and 9 month pictures all taken at JcPenny's, but i really wanted to have some pictures taken outside for her 1 year photos. Also last year we went to a studio for our family pictures and while they were good and we chose to only get one pose which made it extremely affordable, i just wanted to splurge this year, so i did and i could not be any more happy that i did. All of the shots were taken in the fields and creek behind and surrounding our house.  Foxtail Family Fun is what C.Linz Photography shared on her blog tonight, I can't wait to get all the photos on our memory stick and make my selections!  

Buck #2

Opening Day of riffle season, Mr. C is sitting in his stand on top of the hill. Me & Lil Miss are sleeping in and playing inside. Planning on running to town to run errands after her morning nap, I am just about ready to go and lil Miss C is still napping, next thing i know Mr. C is yelling to me at the bottom of the stairs... I got him babe, I got him, he's a big one!!!!

After we talk briefly, he goes to the neighbors to get some help to get the deer out of the woods, so he gets back and we get the tractor and head to get the deer.

Mr. C had watched some does and one buck all morning but did not have a good shot on the buck, and the does had beded down, so he decided that he would come in, grab some breakfast and head back out early afternoon. As he was walking down the hill, he jumped up 3 does and a buck, he immediately saw a tall, wide rack so he shot....

A 7 pointer!

After field dressing and roping it to the hoist on the tractor, it was hung in the barn. 

That afternoon was spent processing Buck #1 and the buck our friend got with his bow on Friday, we are waiting to process this deer until it has hung for a day.

Now he is just doe hunting until it is bow season again where he could potentially get one more buck.

I can not believe it has been a year since you have passed. Love you and miss you dearly, thinking of you in heaven today.

Monkeyin around on Halloween

Today we celebrated Lil Miss C's first halloween. Mr. C is working out of town, so he missed out on all the fun.

Our first stop was at Great Grandma C's. Great Uncle M knew we were coming and picked up some gold fish for lil miss. It was a nice treat for her.

Next stop was at GAG's to see her and Grandma C. Lil miss with her bag of goodies from Grandma.

We then headed to Great Grandma C's. This is one of my favorites from the evening.

We then ended the evening at Mama & Papa's, ate some chilli, went trick or treating in the subdivision and watched all the trick or treaters come to the door. Plus we got in some good cousin play time.
