An unexpected night

J&H gave us an unexpected night without the girls. I had to work the next morning, so we just spent the night enjoying a long 4-wheeler ride and each others company at home.

After mass we went to L&B's for Christmas. The kiddos were entertained by How the Grinch stole Christmas while everyone ate and until we started opening presents.

After the kiddos got done, us adults played Rob Your Neighbor and we headed home just shortly before mid-night.

This was the first year in 10 years since Mr. C and I have been dating that we did not spend the night at his dad's house. This was an extremely hard tradition for us to break. Since my sis B&B got married my family has not had Christmas on Christmas Day, however the first year 2003 we were dating i broke my tradition of staying at my parents house and stayed with him at his dad's house. Mr. C's brother stopped staying the night about 5-6 years ago & Sissy stopped 2-3 years ago, so it has just been us. Well this year Mr. C decided that we would spend Christmas Eve at our house.

We took our C Family Pictures on the 8th. On Sunday the 13th, the photographer emailed and said she had our pictures ready, so tonight i stopped and picked up the cd. We used katiepacephotography instead of Clinz this time because she is expecting and cancelled her fall mini session and was not able to take on any more sessions this fall, she recommended Katie, so we booked with her. Katie did a good job, but we are used to CLinz and how she does her sessions. I am very pleased with how our photos turned out because i was frustrated after our session. I was frustrated because Mr. C was crappy, Lil Miss C was crappy and not wanting to cooperate with having her picture taken and Littlest C just really wasn't giving me the giggles and smiles i am used to seeing, but i have to remind myself that is what happens when you are taking photos with 2 children.... a few of my favs

An unpleasant evening

This evening when i got home I went to let the dogs out and i found Millie asleep in her dog box. Mr. C was helping a friend and not home from work yet, so when he got home I had to gesture to him why i was trying to reach him and had called his friend. Lil Miss C was playing and i didn't quite want to blurt anything out yet. Mr. C caught on as to why i was so upset when he didn't see Millie with Suzie. After some tears, okay lets be honest lots of tears were shed tonight and still are. We explained to Lil Miss C that Millie had gone to doggie heaven and was no longer with us. Then he had the neighbor help him and they buried her on Grandma H's farm, her farm surrounds the subdivision that we live in.

Millie was our first dog together. She was a lost dog that was at our property when we first purchased the lot. Mr. C had finally convinced me to bring her home with us and then we found her owner. After taking her back to the owner, he was looking for a good home for her, so he said that we good keep her. She has seen us through our wedding and first 5 years of marriage, our first home, our first child, our second child, many many good times and bad times as well.

She was a trooper with Lil Miss C. She let her do just about anything to her and she loved her. 

So glad that i got these pictures with Littlest C just a few weeks ago.

We knew it was coming, she was an old dog, but she just kept hangin in there and giving us the best. She was a wonderful companion to Mr. C, myself and our girls. She will be missed by all of us.

5 Year's

Happy 5th Anniversary Mr. C! Our big plans for our 5 year's included canning tomatoes, relaxing and playing with the girls and doing garden work. No special plans this year, maybe after the next 5 we will plan a big trip.

10 years since our first "ride"

It is hard to believe at times that it has been 10 years since we took that first ride together at the county fair. Here's to the next 10 and so many more after that! Love you so much, babe.

Beautiful evening, great seats with great friends

Last night we went to the ballgame with some great friends J&J! Mr. C's parents watched Lil Miss C for us and even kept her overnight, so we could have the evening out. It was a beautiful evening for a ball game. We had great weather, great seats and great company.

Enjoying our date night, it has been a few months since we have had one and it was wonderful! 

Unfortunately we didn't win, but that didn't stop us from having a good time! After the game, we went to the local watering hole for a short while before heading home. 

First bang trim

Tonight Lil Miss C had her first bang trim!!! Only took us 20 months to get hair long enough that it needs to be cut! She did a wonderful job sitting still for S to cut her bangs.

Also Happy Anniversary to Mr. C! We spent the evening getting his haircut and Lil Miss C's bang trims, took a drive through the park and had dinner at home. Just enjoying the simple things in life. Love u babe. 

A Night On the Town

To celebrate our birthday's this year we decided that we would get an overnite sitter, call a cab and have a night out on the town. It also happened to work out that some friends of our's were having a surprise 30th bday party for our friend on Mr. C's birthday! My sis CJ came over and watched lil Miss at the house and spent the night at the house.

We went to dinner at Dos Primos for some yummy Mexican! Then we headed to the bar for the evening. We had a lot of fun and it was nice to be out and see some people we hadn't seen in a while.

A special thanks to AK & UB for giving Mr. C the The Gift of a Night Out  for some work he had done helping a new neigbor, who is their co-worker and friend poor some concrete. They also met us out for the evening and AK ended up taking us home! Long story short, we took the cab to AK & UB's to drop UB off and then went in a hung out and AK ended up taking us home. :)

10 years ago

I was packing my bags heading away from home to begin my adventure at college. 8 years ago I was packing my bags moving into my own apartment at college and low and behold started my adventure with Mr. C. 3 years ago I became Mrs. C. Heres to a litfetime more, Happy Anniversary Mr. C!

Recap of our day. One day we may be able to spend our actual anniversary with only each other, this year after getting off from work, picking up lil miss C, Mr. C getting off work, surprising me with flowers, we loaded up and headed to the ball diamonds, stopping by the fed the piggers first, then after enjoying watching Mr. C play ball and visiting with his teammates, we grabbed dinner from Burger King.  

We really don't celebrate

Valentine's day at our house, we have no special traditions that we do each year, rarely have we gotten each other a present, not even a card, or a box of candy. So this year we did't have any special plans, just making dinner at home...we got steaks out on Sunday, but they didn't thaw out in time so we ended up have steaks, salad & cheesy rice for dinner with Fat Man's delight for dessert! The tow truck was finally able to make it down our hill to pick up my car and arond 5:00pm the dealership called and it was ready so we went & picked it up, luckily there was just something that got lose in the key iginition cylinder so all we had to pay for was labor. Great Grandma C had gotten a first valentine's day bib for lil miss, so we did an at home photo shoot yesterday!

When Mr. C arrived home from work, he surprised me with flowers. Lillies & daises! A wonderful surprise, they look & smell wonderful, can't wait for the lillies to open up!

Welcome to the 30 club

Mr. C! Today is Mr. C's birthday and he joins his friends in the 30 club. We have gone to a lot of 30's parties this year and i feel bad that i am not doing anything more for his 30th than we are, but he really did not want to do much, and since he decided he wants to go hunting in the morning he didn't want to be out partying late, so we are just keeping in low key this year... Maybe i'll plan a big party for his 40th! I made him a red velvet cake, Grandma C came home from the hospital so he helped get her into her house and otherwise he are just hanging out at home with lil miss C and each other!

Another year on the books

of my life that is. To celebrate i did nothing all day expect take care of lil miss C. It wasjust her and I all day as Mr. C was busy grinding up deer all day and then when he got done with that B needed his help cleaning out his flu as smoke was coming back into their house. When Mr. C came back from his deer grinding party he brought me these.

The flowers were a nice surprise and unexpected as this is the first he has bought flowers for me. When we were dating he bought a rose or two here or there from the bar lady, but this is the first time i have acutally gotten a vase full of flowers and he did wonderful as lillies are my favorite flower! 

A quiet evening at home

is how we were planning on celebrating our anniversay, however that is not exactly what happened. After our busy weekend out of town, we just were going to make dinner together and enjoy a relaxing evening at home. On our 1 year anniversay we had been to a bachlor & bachlorette parties the night before so we spent the day recovering and relaxing together and just made dinner together and ate our cake. Mr. C and J were giving a pitching lesson to one of Mr. C's coworkers sons which was supposed to only take a lil while, well it ended up taking way longer than expected and so we ended up only getting to spend about an hour together before we headed to bed, hoping next year's anniversay will be better.

On August 16, 2008 I went from being Miss C. to Mrs. C!
Exchanging the rings.. Funny moment, I put Mr. C's ring on the wrong finger. All of his groomsmen were trying to get his attention so he would move it to the right hand.

We were married at St. Alphonsus church, it is the church that my parents and grandparents are members off and where I was baptised, had first communion & confirmation. As you can kind of tell from the pictures, we have a wonderful crowd. The church was full and we had around 400 people at the reception. We sent out around 550 invitations.

Our wedding party... including Mr. C & I there were 20 people in our party! My 3 sisters, his 2 sisters & sister-n-law, my 3 friends, his brother, my brother, his brother-n-law, my brother-n-law, and his 5 friends.

So we wanted everyone & their spouses/significant others to celebrate with us, so we rented a huge party bus. It could accomodate 32 and we had it full! We had such a blast celebrating and taking pictures with our wedding party.

For our guest book, my aunt put together a scrapbook for us and put pictures around the perimemter of the pages the guests signed. The programs I designed, printed and put together myself. The picture is of Mr. C's mom, him and his brother. It along with a memorial candle was next to our untiy candle during the ceremony and we placed it at the sign it table at the reception.

Our cake was alternating layers of white and chocolate squares with brown ribbon and orange and yellow lillies as the topper.

For our table decorations I had potted plants, some with lillies and some with just potted green plants. I can't recall what plants we used. Then for our favors we handed out wildflower seeds.

These ladies were awesome!!! There were my brides bitches. They are close friends of mine and them helping take stuff from the church to the reception hall and making sure everything was ready at the reception was my way of having them involved since i already had so many bridesmaids. They were so helpful and I have already returned the favor for one of them and can't wait to do it for the other.

Well these were just a few of the highlights. If I would have been blogging before we got married there are so many other details that I am sure that I would share and I am sure there will be future posts reminancing about the day we got married. we are both extrememly lucky that we have found the one person that we want to share life's advetnures with!

Forever and for always

Mr. C and I met in 2003. we dated long distance until I graduated college and then we were finally living in the same county in 2005. In May of 2006 I moved into the basement house he was renting from his grandma. We both knew that we would eventually get married but we wanted to make sure we were both ready before we headed down that road. On December 8 2007 we had taken a drive out to our property and were just chilling out at home. We were joking around and we commented on how much we love each other and that we'll be together forever and for always, pinky promise? We'll Mr. C didn't pinky promise so I was like well fine... He left the room and came back with a diamond ring on his pinky and said i promise, will you marry me? I was in shock with exicitement, of course i said YES!!! We had gone to dinner for my mom's birthday a few nights before this and he had the ring on him that night and asked my dad in the men's restroom right before we left the restaurant. He was planning on waiting until the following weekend because we had plans to go to his Grandma's cabin for our birthdays. But he told me he couldn't wait and the right opportunity just came up. I kinda knew that he had bought a ring but I was trying my best not to snope to much so that i could be surprised. we hadn't looked at rings, i had mentioned to him the type of cut that I like but otherwise he picked out the ring all by himself and I love it. He did better than what I expected. I could not be more happy with how our proposal happend.

Livin the single life no more

Hubs and I met the summer of 2003. I came home for the county fair, and he had been working with one of my closest's girlfriends boyfriend. We hung out with our friends and together the few days i was home and had an incredible time. we didn't talk for about a month and then when I was home getting things to move into an apartment, I met up with my friend and we happend to be hanging out at his place. Hubs and I both agreed that we liked each other and if we lived closer we would have already been dating. So we decided to give the long distance relationship a try. That was the beginning of the end of the single life for me.
