Annual M-D Weekend

This weekend we had our annual Mother Daughter weekend. This year we went to the Lake of the Ozarks and enjoyed staying in a house on the lake. It was a wonderful weekend relaxing and visiting with my sisters and mom.

Annual Mother Daughter Weekend

Whew....what a weekend....

Friday afternoon we finally got on the road for my annual mother-daughter weekend. The plan was to leave around 3:00P but with having to take Lil Miss C to the dr's we didn't leave until about 5:30P. So we picked up CJ on the way instead of her driving down by herself. B didn't join us this year as she had to help B get ready to go out of town for work. Friday was a long day in the car for me, we finally arrived at the hotel at 11:17PM. Littlest C went with us so that Mr. C could get a few more things done around the house in preparation for the C Country Craze next weekend. Saturday morning we got up and ate breakfast and were ready to leave a little before 10A to start on adventure for the day.

After we got through there we headed to find some lunch. One of our traditions is to only eat at local restaurants.

We found Granny Shafers restaurant and enjoyed some good home cooking.

After lunch we drove around Joplin looking at what remains from the 2011 tornado damage and then we found a winery B&B for some wine tasting.

I was a little creep-ed out at this place. For some reason they were just giving me a weird vibe... the wines were okay and then we moved on to our next stop, the Farm Girl Fest.

We saw a sign for this festival when we were driving into the winery so we decided to check it out. There we getting close to quitting time for the day so we browsed quickly. Lots of neat photo opps at this place so i took lots of pics.

A beautiful afternoon spent exploring this festival. 

Next we drove by the town square and stopped in a few of the antique stores that were still open.

We finished the evening with drinks and a light dinner of cheese and sausage at the hotel. Littlest C enjoyed some play time before bedtime.

This morning we got up and ready and decided we would grab breakfast at a restaurant since we were not impressed with the hotel breakfast on Saturday. We saw this place yesterday so decided we would check it out.

Then we got on the road headed for home. We stopped at the lake for a quick 30 minute stretch the legs stretch at the outlet mall. Dropped CJ off, had a short visit there and then got back on the road so that i could get home in time for the H Family Pictures.

I am so thankful that my Littlest C was such a trooper for the weekend. She traveled great and bared with us at all of our stops and being in her car seat.

I was off work today so I spent the day watching the girls until H was done at a school meeting and then we headed to a park that recently opened.

A weekend get-away

We had the opportunity to head to the lake this weekend and we enjoyed the cabin all to our self. CJ joined us for the weekend and we enjoyed boating, tubing, fireworks on the lake, meeting up on the water with MJ & JB.

It was a wonderfully relaxing weekend....that is until we got back to the cabin and were getting ready to leave on Sunday and we have a nasty note from Grandma H. Basically the note said that it cost her extra money to have extra people up there, she has someone who wants to use her tiller so we need to bring it to her house. Needless to say Mr. C & I were livid and extremely upset by this note. We always help at the cabin and make sure to clean up after ourselfves and yes we did not ask if it was okay to CJ join us for the weekend, but it was a late last minute decision on Friday evening. When we got back from the lake we went swimming at the parents pool and discussed the note with them.  We are going to give Grandma H money for using the cabin for the weekend and Mr. C was going to drop the tiller at her house on Monday and we are done with going to the cabin for a while. If we do go to the lake we will find another place to stay.

Lil Miss C has been getting to know the local park, we went and played and walked before heading to the new pool. She is still not quite sure about the slides, but loves to swing.

We met my parents, DMan & Lfrog and JR for a swim at the new aquatic center. The pool just opened this summer and this was our first time to visit. The kiddos had a blast.

Lake Bound for Memorial Day weekend

So after spending the afternoon getting us all ready to go, we were lake bound by 4:30PM on Thursday!! Mr. C was going to be working not that far from the cabin on Friday so that is why we got to head up there early and enjoy an extra day at the lake!!

Once we arrived and unpacked a few things...Lil Miss was checking out the golf cart.

On Friday Lil Miss C and i got our boat all cleaned up and ready for the weekend, relaxed and played while waiting for the others to begin arriving for the weekend. She was so close to walking around in daddy's shoes.

Friday evening we set up our tent and enjoyed everyone's company as they arrived for the weekend. Saturday and Sunday we enjoyed lots of swimming, boating and good company. Lil Miss C loved being in the lake water.

and got used to being on the boat. She didn't like it when we first put the boat on and when we would take the boat off the water. But i think that was because she was hot when we put on the water and just tired when we took off the water. None the less she did amazing palying and being on the boat for the weekend!

We left fairly early on Monday morning so we could get home, do laundry, mow grass, and repack Mr. C as he was going back to the cabin to stay and work the rest of the week. After we got some chores done and Lil Miss C had her nap, we wentover to Mr' C's parents pool and enjoyed swimming and bbqing for the evening.

Lil Miss C's sitter has been on vacation this week, so Grandma Watched her on Monday and Wednesday and I took off the rest of the week. We have had a wonderful week. Lots of time spent at the park. I got to get a 2 mile walk in each day that we went and Lil Miss C got to play as well.

Thursday we were playing & getting ready to go swimming when Mr. C called us and asked if we wanted to head to the lake that evening. Which we said of course we do!! So instead of swimming we headed to the grocery store and home to get everything packed and ready to leave when he got home.

Annual Mother Daughter Weekend

This past weekend was my annual mother daughter weekend. We again meet my sis JR halfway for the weekend. We left the kiddos at home, but were joined by my brothers finance! I am so glad that she was able to join us, since they don't live that close to us, i haven't gotten to know her all that well and it was great to spend some time getting to know her this weekend. As always after the loooooooong car ride, we arrived and got settled into the hotel and relaxed for the evening with dinner and drinks at the hotel. Saturday we ventured out to the horse races, which was a lot of fun!!! Only one of my sisters and myself have been to the races before so it was exicitng to show them how to bet, and pick horses...plus for me this was the first time going to a horse race not for work, so i actually got to enjoy betting and a few drinks at the race track!! We left after the 7th race and went out to dinner and then back to the hotel. it was a wonderful weekend spending time with my sisters and my mom. We all had a really great time. Until next year...

Annual Mother Daughter Weekend

This year for mother daughter weekend, after driving and relaxing at the hotel on Friday evening, we enjoyed the day on Saturday at a horse park. This year we had the 2 newest additions to our family along with us.

We had an enjoyable time at the park, we watched the parade of breeds, explored the museums, watched the show of champions and got stuck in the rain, we rain through down pours and headed back to the hotel.

And of course once we got back to the hotel, the rain had stopped. The kiddos took a short but well needed nap, me and my sis CJ tried to get some sun, but it didn't stay out long, and then we all cleaned up for dinner.

and once i again i did not snap any picutres of my sistas & momma...we all had a wonderful weekend spending time together.
