Walkin for Dot's Tot's

My Grandma C was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago. At that time she under went chemo and radiation and came through treatments okay. Earlier this year they found it in the other breast and this time she decided to have the breast removed. To honor her fight and journey, we participated in the Relay for Life walk.

I can only hope that I am like her when I get as "young" as she is.

S Holiday Party

Tonight was Sissy & D's annual holiday party. I was looking forward to a night out and visiting with family and friends. However I felt awful all day at work and felt sick all evening. We still went though and i enjoyed visiting but still we did not stay late and I made the best of the evening.

Lil Miss C's 3 Year Dr Apt

This morning we went to Lil Miss C's 3 year doctor's appointment. I was horrible because i thought they would still put things down in her book i didn't think to write down what her weight and height were. But the important thing is that the check up went well and our lil Miss C is gettin big.

Sickness spreads quickly at the sitters

Sunday after Littlest C's baptism,we were heading back to our house for lunch and i got a text from out sitter that one of the other little girls had come down with hand, foot & mouth. I talked with CJ about it and she gave me the symptoms to watch for. On Tuesday she was running a slight fever, so we kept her home, i thought it was just from her teeth. We kept her home again on Wednesday just to be on the safe side and then on Thursday she developed the rash and had some small sores, so we kept both girls at home until the today. I am very thankful that she didn't seem to get it as bad as the other kiddos did and that the sores didn't develop in her mouth. Also so thankful that i was able to keep Littlest C from getting anything.

Lil Miss C not feelin well

Lil Miss C woke up in the middle of the night last night and felt warm and wanted to be cuddled. I slept with her in her room the rest of the night. When it was time to get up and ready for work, i took her temp and she wasn't running a fever so i took her to the sitters. Her cough was sounding awful and she was sounding horse, so i called the dr's office and they wanted to see her. So we got an appointment for 2:00P. The NP gave her a checkup, her ear's looked fine, throat was a little red, and her lungs sounded good. She instructed us that it was more than likely a virus and it would need to run its course and to continue with the benadryl and Tylenol and if not better in 7 days to come back. So i probably didn't really need to take her to the dr's but better safe than sorry especially since i am going out of town.

This morning as we were getting ready, Mr. C calls me and says that Lil Miss C isn't feeling well at all and feels warm. I instruct him to take her temp and he does and calls me back and asks to speak to CJ, her temp is 101.7. She tells him to give her some ibuprofen, of course i don't have any children's at home so she tells him to split one in half and give it to her with some food. He gets her to take it along with the Tylenol and benadryl. By mid day her temp was back down to 97.3 but then Mr. C started not feeling well so they had a pretty calm evening watching movies. Lil Miss C goes to the Dentist

Today was Lil Miss C's second trip to the Dentist. They still didn't clean her teeth, just looked at everything and made sure all was looking good. She did great and sat in the chair all by herself. I was surprised with how well she did, but hope it continues when they start cleaning her teeth, which will be done at the next appointment since she will be 3 then.

Yet another dr's appointment

So i was due for my well woman exam and of course they couldn't do the pap smear when i was there for my 6 week follow up appointment so back to the dr's i went today. Disappointing that i still haven't lost any of the weight i need to...

The power of prayer

Mr. C's cousin Ash, has been in the hospital since the end of January. She had a pretty extensive surgey to remove an abcesses cyst on her ovary and to battle a massive infection that has gotten in to her system as a result. I went and visited with AK & UB on Feb 7th, Mr. C was sick with puenemoia, and Lil Miss C was battling a bad cold, so i went by myself. She was still in intensive care and had undergone 4 surgeries. We were all healthy and able to go and visit her today. We were hoping to actually be able to visit with her, but she had her 9th surgery yesterday and did not get much sleep and was needing to rest, so we were able to visit with AK & UB. She is slowly getting better, on Friday they were able to partially close her abdomon, hoping to get it closed early in the week. She still has a long road ahead of her, and we are still praying for her recovery. She is one extremely stong woman to overcome this super germ that attacked her abdomon.

After we got done visiting with them, we stopped by Bass Pro Shops, Mr. C mad a few purchases and then headed to another hospital to visit with Grandma C. She has been in the hospital since last Sunday, we visited her on Thursday night, and came back for another visit. Praying for her recovery as well.

A day of doctor's

Today we had lil miss C's first appointment at the doctor's office and my two week follow up appointment at my doctor's office. Luckily since the weather is really cold, Mr. C had the day off and was able to take and go with us to our appointments. We started the morning with lil Miss C's appointment. We got acquainted with the office, filled out first time patients paperwork and then headed back for her check up. The nurse took her vitals, she weighed in at 7lbs, 14 oz, was 21 inches long and her head circumference was 14. We then feed her while we waited for the doc to come in. When the doc came in, we talked about some things, how we were doing, family/friend connections in the office,  our & our families medical backgrounds and then about her health. He was pleased with her weight and her coloring, she is still a good pink color--no signs of johndice. Her umbicial cord has still not fallen off, so he showed me how to clean it better and applied some medicine to help it fall off. We discussed how the appointments would go and gave us a growth and development diary to bring with us to each appointment that the nurses would keep track of her vital signs, he also showed us the percentile charts and where she fell on them and why they track things. Like they measure head circumference to track the development of the brain. I was very glad that Mr. C was actually able to go to this appointment with us as it was very informatitive. After her appointment we headed to grab some lunch and kill some time at Babies R U before my appointment. We were looking for a Christmas dress but so far I have had no luck finding anything i like in the price range i am willing to pay. My appointment went well, i weighed in at 132 lbs, blood pressure was 118/68, and doc said the incision was looking great and she thinks you will hardly be able to see it. I asked about my activity level and what i could do: she said i can walk as much as i want to, still no heaving lifting, no exercises that will work the core muscles a lot, no vacumming or lifting laundry. But i did get the all clear to drive as long as i am not taking the persicat during the day and i will have the all clear to do anything after my 6 week appointment. Now i just wish i had a treadmill at home.   

It's hard to believe

that is has been 4 years since I have quit smoking!!! I smoked socially in high school and started smoking more reguarly after i graduated high school and started college. I was never up to a pack a day, although if i was partaking in all day drinking festivities than i would have smoked a pack. I knew that one day i would want to quit but until that time came around i had no interest in quitting. Well that day came a day in May of 2006. while I don't remember the exact day I remember exactly what i did before I smoked that last cigarette. I told my parents that I was going to move in with Mr. C. They handled it better than i anticipated but it was still not easy. I will admit that in those 4 years I have had a few smokes socially but i have never picked the habit back up and hope i can continue to do so.
