Closing the door on one chapter and opening another

Today was my last day working for the same employer for the past 9 years. I completed my internship with this company, was hired full time, worked as the Reservation Specialist for 2 years, then worked as the Adult Programs specialist for 5 years and ended working the last 2 years at the Youth Programs specialist. I learned so much, was given great opportunities and worked with an awesome group of people. But the time and opportunity became available for me to work closer to home.

My coworkers joined me for a good-bye lunch. My "team" that I have worked very closely with the past 9 years.

 and I got her some of her favorite candies to help her get through the first few weeks without me and until they hire my replacement.

It has been an extremely bitter sweet few weeks. I will miss working with this work family and different aspects of my job, but I'm also looking forward to the new opportunities and challenges ahead! I start my new job on Monday.  

Some BIG Changes...

Today I put it my two weeks notice at my work. After 9 years working for the same place, I am leaving to work closer to home. 

2 weddings & work

Yesterday was an extremely busy day. I had to work an event at work from 8A-12P. I got home from work about 12:45P and started getting ready. We had 2 weddings to go to. One on the W side and one on the H side. So we had decided that we would go to the W side wedding ceremony and H side reception. We left our house around 1:30P and headed to the ceremony, getting there as they were starting to walk the grandparents and parents down the aisle. We sneak in and found seats next to the family. Littlest C did not cooperate and did not stay asleep. She lasted for a short while during the ceremony but then got fussy so i took her outside for the remainder of the ceremony and left Lil Miss C and Mr. C to watch.

We then headed into the reception hall and visited with GPa J, S&K, as they made the trip down for the wedding. They were not staying with us though as they knew that we had the other wedding. After visiting with them for a while, Papa had called and Mr. C had talked with J and they were all at UD&AM's house until it was time to leave for the reception. When Mr. C told me we were going to go there for a bit before heading to the other reception i got a little peeved. It meant that we had to drive 20 min in the opposite direction, and then head back to the O for the reception. My plan was to just stay at the W reception until it was closer to time to head to the H reception but Mr. C insisted that we go, so we did, and i was not in a good mood about it. But luckily Lil Miss C fell asleep and stayed asleep while we were there, so at least she got a little nap. After visiting there for a while we headed to the reception. It was a lot of fun. Lil Miss C danced the night away. Unfortunately i didn't get any pictures of the bride and groom and the one i took of Mr. C & I didn't turn out.

Mommy Daze

Littlest C started at the sitters this week on Monday July 22, my first day back to work was not until Wednesday. I took advantage of having the 2 days off to myself. I cleaned the house on Monday. Tuesday I went for a long walk, then helped my sis JR unpack a few boxes, came home picked green beans, then headed to the parents pool and laid out for the afternoon and finished reading a book that i started last summer. Before picking up the girls, i spoiled myself with a pedicure. A nice few relaxing days before going back to work on Wednesday July 24th.

6 week postpartum

Today was my 6 week postpartum appointment. Although i was actually at 7 weeks since my doc was out of town last week.

weight 140....ugh, i hate getting on the scale, it seemed like the weight came off way easier with Lil Miss C as compared to with Littlest C.

After my appointment we stopped by and visited at work, it was a pleasant visit and good to introduce everyone to Littlest C.

A gift from my staff

Today at work my staff through me a little shower. They got me some daises, a gift card to Target, an outfit and a present for Lil Miss C to play with at the hospital.

An unexpected night all to myself....

First off to start the weekend, Mr. & Mrs G welcomed their baby into the world on Friday May 18 at 10:20PM. Congrats to them!!! I was hoping to get to the hospital to see them, but Mr. C was on a man's float trip so it was just Lil Miss C and I on Saturday and i didn't want to take her with me to the hospital. So i was going to try to go today, but they were coming home, so i am just going to go visit this week.

Saturday morning me and Lil Miss went to the park and walked and enjoyed the playground. Then after nap time we went to some cousin's graduation parties at which Mr. C's parents asked if they could take Lil Miss to the lake with them for the evening and day on Sunday. They were planning on watching her for us on Sunday afternoon since i had to go into work for a special event and they didn't know what time they would be home. So that is how i ended up with a night all to myself at home.

So what did i do....sadly enough, i mowed grass, stopped and had a short visit with some neighbors, had a few drinks and was asleep on the couch before 10:00 PM.

I enjoyed my open morning with a pedi and lunch with my sister CJ before going to work for the afternoon.

Baby G's shower

Today at work we through Baby G a shower. I can not even put into words to express how thrilled and exicited i am for Mrs. G, Mr. G and their family. They are going to be such wonderful parents and fill this child's life with so much love. Mr. &  Mrs. G did not find out if they were going to have a little girl or a little boy, so we are all anxiouslly awaiting to find out what they are going to have. Mrs. G is very crafty and made the diaper cake at my shower, so i knew that i wanted to try and make something crafty for her shower. I found this Motorcycle Bike  on Pinterest that i thought would be something different that she might not end up with like 3 or 4 of them like diaper cakes. Mr. C even tried to help me make one of the tires, but his patience didn't last long and he gave up, mine looked better than his. :) I made a few changes from what the directions called for, i used sleepers and onsies instead of blankets and bibs, and a snuggie instead of a stuffed animal. In the end i think it ended up looking okay.

Whew....what a week it has been

I have been out of town at a work conference all week. I really enjoyed the conference, learning and networking, but it was also very stressfull being out of town this week because our truck was in the shop getting fixed and I had to figure out how get money from our savings account at my small home town bank so that Mr. C could pay for the truck and pick it up. Let me tell you, it's no fun when his name is not on the account, i don't have access to a fax line to fax a form saying he could withdraw money, they are only open from 9A-3P.....ugh.....needless to say i am thank ful that my mom is still on the account and she was free during the day to go and withdraw the money and take it to Mr. C. Now i just need to add him to that account so we don't have to hassle with it in the future.

We spent the weekend relaxing.

A co-worker of mine got married yesterday.  She had a small wedding at a local park and then a larger reception at a local school. I went to the reception for dinner and most of the evening.

Whirlwind weekend

After getting done with my work event for the weekend, I met up with Mr. C, who had been helping to cut down some trees at DR all morning. We then headed to pick up lil miss from Sissy & D's house and headed to drop her off at the S's for the evening while we headed up the road for a joint bachlor/bachlorete party.

Then Sunday morning me and lil miss were up and ready for our 5K. We met up with my mil, Sissy, KoBo, H & KBug. We had our strollers and we all rocked it out!! It was a beautiful morning for the race & a wonderful time! After grocery shopping, we relaxed & bbqued with B. B & Dman. 

Out & about

Well lil Miss C and I ventoured out all by ourselves today. We went and visited my co-workers and enjoyed a holiday lunch with them. Last week I had asked my co-worker when they were doing the holiday get together with just our full time office staff and part time staff to let me know as i wanted to come down and visit and not be there for the entire department staff party. Well we talked back and forth and it was decided that it would be today at noon. We'll i think that they just decided to have a holiday lunch amoungst our full time staff so i would bring lil miss C down to visit because none of out part time staff was included or there like we have done in the years past. I do feel bad if that is the only reason why they got together for lunch, but at the same time it was great to see everyone. I was horrible though and didn't snap any pictures of lil miss C with my coworkers. It was great to visit with them and catch up a lil on the office gossip and how "my work" is going. I have done really well with not checking my work email or asking work related questions when talking with my good friend/coworker A, but we will see if i continue to do that in the next 9 weeks or not. I am really lucky to work with such a great group of people, hoping all of them have a merry christmas and a happy new year! After we left my work, we went and finished christmas shopping and i found her a dress i liked and although it was still a little more than i really wanted to pay, i bought it anyways since i haven't seen anything else i have liked for any cheaper and i am running out of time to look. Lil miss C splept the entire time we were out and about and did great for her first outing without dad.
